Bluetooth, faster, further
The fashionable wireless connection standard does not stop generating news. The last one has been produced by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, approving what will be Bluetooth 2.0 EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) which is nothing but the new specification of this protocol. With it the transmission speed will rise to 3 megabits per second, three times more than with the current Bluetooth 1.1 and that's not all, for the next version range distances of up to 100 meters are considered, 10 times more than current devices . Bluetooth is a connection system between wireless devices that many assumed to be dead, but which enjoys a very considerable acceptance by users, which will surely increase when new devices with Bluetooth 2.0 EDR appear in 2005.
