RAW photos and 1080p video at 30fps on mobiles, a reality thanks to OmniVision
That the world of mobile photography is gaining more and more ground in the world of digital compacts is a fact. More and more we find mobiles that offer us a more than acceptable quality, sometimes very similar to that of some photo cameras.
Today OmniVision goes one step further in this small war of devices, and presents the first mobile sensor capable of shooting in RAW, the equivalent of negative, in digital, and which will allow us to store in a file all the information that the sensor It is capable of capturing, giving us much more editing possibilities than a photo in JPG, for example.
And it does so with a five-megapixel sensor, which promises to considerably improve the behavior of this type of sensor in poor light conditions, and which will also be capable of capturing video at 720p and 60fps or 1080p and 30fps.
At the moment the pertinent tests are being made and it is expected that the sensor is ready to make the big leap to the market for the month of July.
Good news, without a doubt, for those who prefer the mobile as a photo camera over the compact ones. We will see the real results offered by this type of sensor to give a verdict.
