HTC returns to the world of smartphones two years later: this is what we know about the HTC Desire 20 Pro

HTC still exists and continues to manufacture mobiles, despite the fact that Google acquired more than 2,000 people from its smartphone division in 2018. The last mobile from the Taiwanese company was the HTC U12 +. That was two years ago.

It seemed that HTC had abandoned mobile telephony to focus on its VIVE virtual reality glasses, but now HTC has confirmed its return by announcing an event for June 16, where it will unveil a new mobile. Predictably the HTC Desire 20 Pro, according to all the rumors.

HTC's new mobile will be the Desire 20 Pro, as has been glimpsed in various certifications before launch. The name is not yet official, but from the HTC community they assume that this will be the name of the phone that will be presented next week.

According to the developer LlabTooFeR, specialized in HTC, the new Desire 20 Pro will be a kind of OnePlus 8 on the front and the Xiaomi Mi 10 on the back, with the presence of the 3.5mm jack.

I thought HTC is dead ... But HTC Desire 20 Pro is in the pipeline ... Design is kind of a mix One Plus 8 on the front and Mi10 on the back ... Yea, 3.5mm audio jack is there, lol 😅

However, according to the GeekBench benchmark, the HTC Desire 20 Pro will be a mid-range terminal with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 665 processor, along with 6 GB of RAM. It remains to be seen if this detail is confirmed or if HTC decides to show us a terminal with various power settings.

For the screen, according to GSMArena, it is expected to find a 6.5-inch LCD panel with FullHD + resolution. The fingerprint reader would not be integrated, but in the back, as Evleaks has hinted.

The HTC Desire 20 Pro will be the first HTC mobile with Android 10, since the brand has been without introducing a new terminal for several years.

HTC's story is one of tragedy for consumer electronics. HTC pioneered the mobile industry and became one of its most relevant manufacturers. But after hitting the sky in 2011, its income gradually fell.

Hardly a single mobile phone can change the course of the company, but it is always good news to see how a brand as mythical as HTC tries again. On June 16 we will know the official details of HTC's return to the world of mobile telephony.
