Lamborghini has a luxury Android tablet and Smartphone
Cars and gadgets, a relationship that sometimes occurs with results not too interesting for the general public, since devices focused on specific markets are produced, and users with high purchasing power.
We leave it to doubtful taste to the opinion of each one, but the truth is that the design of the three products signed by Tonino Lamborguini is the least extravagant, with some creations different from what we are used to with the laptops they make together to ASUS.
In total there are three phones and a tablet, and they are destined for the Russian market. An Android Smartphone and tablet, and a couple of low-end phones, by specifications.
Tonino Lamborghini TL700
It is the group's Smartphone, with Android as the operating system, unfortunately for its buyers (although I don't think they care) it appears with version 2.3 Gingerbread. The specifications, as usually happens with these products, are not very striking either.
They tend to focus on putting good materials, like sapphire glass on its 3.7-inch screen and resolution Wvga. Above the rest, an unknown Qualcomm processor, 5 megapixels on the camera, a front VGA for video calls, 4GB of internal memory, or a 1,400mAh battery.
Outside we find gold and crocodile skin, so it is not surprising that the model goes to prices close to $ 3,000. It will be on the Russian market in August.
Tonino Lamborghini L2800
The luxury tablet is not so much inside. Neither the operating system is up to date, with a more designed Gingerbread for phones (they promise Ice Cream Sandwich in their presentation), nor the hardware attracts attention in any sense.
We have a 9.7-inch screen, with a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels, again protected by sapphire glass. The Qualcomm processor runs at 1.2GHz, accompanied by 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and a 5 megapixel camera (2 megapixels for the front).
In this case there is not so much gold involved and the design is much more conventional. The price of the Lamborghini L2800 is about 1,800 euros to change, and also appears in Russia in August.
We finish with the “not smart” models, the Lamborghini TL688 Spyder and TL820 Spyder 2. Phones that are greatly exaggerated in design, loaded with gold and leather, which also move around 2,000 euros.
It is not the first time that Lamborghini has ventured into the mobile phone market, in 2008 he collaborated with ASUS on the ZX1, but the project was canceled. In 2009 they did put a phone on the market next to Tag Heuer, the Meridiist Lamborghini, a special edition of an already luxurious phone.
Regarding the competition, we recently had the opportunity to present you the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9981, an update in design of the Bold model, with a slight customization of the software. I think there is no need to mention Vertu, which has been launching Nokia phones for powerful economies for many years, but without any relation to automobile brands.
