LG KM900 Arena
The LG Arena is the Korean manufacturer's big bet for this year. They have been supplying information with droppers for almost a week, but finally the official presentation and all its data have arrived, which position it as a very interesting multimedia phone.
Its main asset is the new user interface 3D S-Class, with which they wanted to improve the use of the phone and facilitate the performance of tasks with their fingers. Attention to this interface, because it will be a common note in many of the mobiles that LG presents from here on out.
LG KM900 Arena, multimedia phone
The multimedia capacity of the LG Arena is undeniable, it comes standard with the specifications that the manufacturer has incorporated. Thus, we found first of all a great 3-inch screen with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels, ideal for watching video in panoramic format. In this section, it offers support for H.264, MP4, WMV, Avi, XviD and DivX.
But we will not only be able to watch video, but also record it, thanks to a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, which allows to record video at 120 frames per second. To store all this content we have 8 GB of internal memory, to which we can add the ones we add using MicroSD cards of up to 32 GB.
Sound has also been well treated in the LG KM900 Arena, as it includes Dolby Mobile technology to offer surround sound and improve music playback. The headphone jack is the traditional 3.5-millimeter jack, as well as allowing you to use headphones wirelessly via Bluetooth.
LG KM900 Arena, always connected
Connectivity is one of the points that has been most taken into account in this phone. Therefore, the LG KM900 incorporates a 3G connection with HSDPA compatibility, which allows it to reach download speeds of up to 7.2 megabits per second. If we prefer to connect via Wi-Fi we can also do it without problems.
This connectivity, in addition to browsing the Internet, will be used to offer access to some of the applications that are installed, many of which will allow us to share the content created with this mobile. Thus, we will find a good number of applications from Google, Youtube, Gmail, ...
3D S-Class, the new user interface
The interface of the LG KM900 Arena has two different parts. On the one hand, the main screen, which can resemble that of the iPhone, with icons that offer access to the different applications of the phone. It is an interface elastic, as LG has called it, since all the icons do not fit on the screen so we can move them by dragging with our fingers.
On the other hand we have the 3D S-Class interface itself, consisting of a cube, which we can rotate with our fingers, and in which each of the faces offers us access to different terminal functions, such as contacts, multimedia playback, ...
Within these we can move through the different options with rotating search wheels, for example among all our contacts or between our records if we are looking for one to play.
Apart from this, the management of the photographs in the KM900 Arena is also quite original, grouping them by days, with which we will move between those of the same day by dragging to the sides, and we will change the day by dragging up or down.
LG KM900 Arena, more features
To finish, we must highlight that the phone screen is capacitive, in addition to being made of tempered glass to make it more resistant. It has a 5 megapixel camera, which we can focus on manually or automatically, and includes a battery with autonomy for 30 hours of music playback or up to 300 hours on standby.
In Europe, the LG KM900 Arena will go on sale from March, at a price not yet specified.
We leave you with the official video of the product.
