Nokia E71. Everything about the Nokia E71

Nokia's Eseries range is aimed at users who use email "almost abusively" on their mobile phones. It is now renewed with two new terminals, the first of which is the Nokia E71, a terminal with keyboard QWERTY complete that offers us access to all our email accounts and instant messaging.

Its focus is clearly to compete with BlackBerrys, also incorporating the features expected of a mid-high-range mobile phone and high-speed Internet connectivity.

Nokia E71 connectivity

The Nokia E71 is a quad-band phone, with support for GSM and 3G, specifically offering HSDPA at a maximum speed of 3.6 megabits per second. In case we do not have 3G coverage, it also supports EDGE at a maximum of 296 kilobits per second.

It also has connectivity through Wi-Fi, compatible with 802.11g, a port USB and Bluetooth 2.0, with A2DP profile support, allowing you to use wireless stereo headphones to listen to music.

Features of the Nokia E71

The Nokia E71 has a 2.36-inch screen that offers a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels and 16 million colors. Its camera has a resolution of 3.2 megapixels and allows video recording at resolution QVGA.

Its dimensions are 11.4 × 5.7 × 1 cm, making it extremely slim. Its weight is 126 grams, not too high seeing the autonomy offered by its battery. Up to 10.5 hours of talk mode GSM and up to 17 days on hold, which are extended up to 20 if we use the 3G network.

It has a receiver GPS, with A-GPS support, that we can use with the Nokia Maps application that comes pre-installed.

Internal memory has 110 MB, but we can increase it through MicroSD cards to a maximum of 8 GB. Too bad the headphone jack is 2.5 millimeters instead of the usual 3.5, which prevents using ordinary headphones without an adapter.

Nokia E71, with Symbian S60

The Nokia E71 runs on the Symbian S60 operating system, and includes a really useful function, the quick change of the home screen between two modes, personal and work, with which we can have different shortcuts and plugins in each one of them.

For email we find support for Nokia Intellysync, Exchange and any account that uses POP3 or IMAP, with direct support from Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo.

Its functionalities will allow us access, in addition to email, calendar, contacts, tasks and download of attached files, with support for Office documents and PDF.

Availability and price

The Nokia E71 will be available during the third quarter of this year and can be purchased in two different colors, dark gray and white, both with a metallic finish, and will be priced at 350 euros.
