OnePlus 6T: everything we know (or think we know) ahead of Monday's presentation
OnePlus's strategy in terms of launches has been seen in recent years: a new terminal in the first part of the year and another in the second with new features and slight improvements. From OnePlus 3 to OnePlus 3T, from OnePlus 5 to OnePlus 5T and now from OnePlus 6 to OnePlus 6T. The new phone will officially appear on October 29, but various leaks and rumors already give us an idea of what we can expect to see.
The OnePlus 6 left us with a good feeling after the analysis, despite the fact that it failed in some aspects such as sound or facial recognition. In any case, a high range that still resists with prices below what other manufacturers have accustomed us to. Will the OnePlus 6T improve in those factors where OnePlus 6 punctured? We will know once it is presented.

Technical specifications of the OnePlus 6T according to leaks
OnePlus has been releasing different clues about what they will present to us, but the occasional leak has also revealed specific specifications, images and functions of the phone that we would not otherwise be able to know until the official presentation. As indicated in GSMArena, these could be its main specifications:
157.5 x 74.8 x 8.2 mm
6.4-inch AMOLED with Gorilla Glass 6
Ratio 19.5: 9, and resolution 2,340 x 1,080
Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
Eight cores, 10nm and up to 2.8GHz
128 and 256 GB
OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie
Dual 16MP and 20MP sensor
WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, 2.4 / 5 GHz, MiMO 2x2, Bluetooth 5
LTE Download 1Gbps, upload 150 Mbps
NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo
Fingerprint on the screen, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light
USB 3.1 Type-C
Approx. 580 euros
These specifications are to be confirmed, and do not even have to be true. However, we can glimpse some details that clearly differentiate it from its predecessor. Although the processor, RAM or the graphics itself remain, it changes in visual aspects and functions. For example, the screen is somewhat larger, probably due to a smaller notch than in the OnePlus 6. Another important change? It seems that the jack connector is conspicuous by its absence, something that fans of the brand will not like.

No sensor in sight, no jack, no wireless charging
Going into the design aspect, we can know some of the changes that the phone will experience and consequently the functions that it will offer. In fact, the CEO of the company himself has revealed some things in interviews that he has granted.
Consider us impressed. We're almost at 7 billion taps. The last tap on October 25 before 5PM CET wins a special reward. Happy tapping! #UnlockYourSpeed https://t.co/LJpPHGeMfA pic.twitter.com/o0eLTjPplz- OnePlus (@oneplus) October 23, 2018
A relevant change that we are going to see regarding the OnePlus 6 is the fingerprint sensor. It is maintained, but is integrated into the screen and is not in the back. So far, large-caliber manufacturers that have launched something like this have Huawei with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. That they bet on this technology may be an indication that in OnePlus for the moment facial recognition is not a priority.
Precisely where facial recognition takes center stage is in the notch of mobiles, notch that OnePlus 6T seems to be reduced to a "drop design" where only the camera lens has space and the earpiece is positioned in the upper frame. Apparently it is the only change that we will see on the front of the phone, the reduction of the notch compared to the OnePlus 6.

Dash Charging is one of the features most applauded by fans of the brand. OnePlus's own fast charging system is one of the fastest today, and it seems that it is also the justification for not incorporating wireless charging at the moment. According to Pete Lau, using wireless charging the phone would not charge as fast as customers are used to. Of course, it ensures that they are working on it so that when wireless charging is just as fast, they can add it.
Continuing with features that the OnePlus 6T will not bring: water resistance. The co-founder of the brand explained that the phone will be more waterproof than its predecessors. More resistant to splashes, not to immersion. He explains that the cost of getting such an IP certification right now just doesn't pay them off.
An interior that maintains power but improves battery life
As we have seen before, an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor is maintained as a CPU to move this terminal. With the help of 8 GB of RAM (while some already go for 10 GB) and a storage capacity that is possibly identical to that of the OnePlus 6T.

But where we do see a considerable change inside is in the camera. As we can see on the OnePlus 6T page on Amazon India, it will come with a 3,700 mAh battery. This represents an increase of 400 mAh compared to the OnePlus 6. Will this improve the 14 hours of intensive use on average that the OnePlus 6 achieves? It all depends on how well optimized Android 9 Pie is on the phone.
OxygenOS renewed on Android 9 Pie
Pete Lau, the company's CEO, has confirmed more details about the phone, though this time more obvious. OnePlus 6T will have Android 9 Pie pre-installed, the latest version of Google's operating system. This does not mean that they abandon their customization layer, OxygenOS.
Speaking about OxygenOS in the manufacturer's official forums, some engineers and developers from the OxygenOS team have announced that the experience will improve in the new version. According to them, "a complete new interface" that "you will have to experience for yourself to really understand" is yet to come. It is especially expected that new navigation gestures will be integrated, now that the buttons seem like a thing of the past.
OnePlus 6T price and availability
Neither the final price of the terminal is known nor the exact date on which it will reach stores. Although it is true that some figures are rumored, it must be taken into account that it will vary according to the country and the taxes of each region. Despite everything, the figure is around 580 euros. To put it in perspective, let's look at the prices of the latest OnePlus phones:
- OnePlus 3: 399 euros
- OnePlus 3T: 439 euros
- OnePlus 5: 499 euros
- OnePlus 5T: 499 euros
- OnePlus 6: 519 euros
The continuous growth of the starting price is evident model after model, and we will surely see it this time too. Despite everything, for the moment they can still boast of having a high-end terminal with prices much lower than the competition.

Regarding the date, the only one that we know officially is that of the presentation. Presentation that was originally planned for October 30 but coincidences of fate, Apple will also hold its own event on October 30 and precisely in New York as OnePlus. For this reason, the manufacturer has decided to anticipate the presentation by October 29. Most likely, it can be booked from October 30, although shipments are made a posteriori. From The Verge they assure that it will be next November 6.
A limited edition of 100 units
OnePlus likes to play with these kinds of things to generate more expectation and exclusivity for their phones. A good example of this was the invitation system of the first OnePlus. Now it seems that we will have a 'OnePlus 6T Ultimate Limited Edition'.

As published by a Swedish retailer, OnePlus has prepared 100 special units of the phone. What will be special about it? Everything points to a storage capacity of 512 GB and next to the phone "a lot of secret things". Any more specification changes? A different material for the exterior? Nothing is clear, but it leaves expectations high.
Both this possible special edition and most of the features discussed above are assumptions and rumors. Apart from some functions detailed by the CEO of the company, little else do we know for sure about the terminal. Next Monday everything that the OnePlus team has been working on in recent months will come to light and come to light.
