Samsung Beat DJ and Beat Disc

Samsung has arrived at MWC with a handful of good news. Two of them, the two new phones in the Beat range, called Samsung Beat DJ and Beat Disc, aimed at audio reproduction and representing a great evolution with respect to that first Beat range introduced half a year ago.

First of all we will discuss the Samsung Beat DJ, possibly the most striking of the two terminals presented this morning. Its main feature is the touch screen, AMOLED type and with a size of 2.8 inches, resolution of 240x400 pixels. Note that Samsung is strongly committed to this type of screen, and that a large number of products in its catalog use it.

It also includes a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA connectivity and compatibility with numerous video compression formats, although nothing that does not already exist in other terminals. Where they have wanted to differentiate themselves is in the software: the Samsung Beat DJ includes programs that, in addition to allowing the content to be played, also offer the possibility of mixing several tracks or applying sound effects or filters, all with the help of the touch screen and a audio technology developed by Bang & Olufsen.

It is something like a mobile for disc jockeys, saving the distances and with everything in small programs included in an electronic device such as a mobile.

The other presentation, the Samsung Beat Disc, follows the path opened by the Beat DJ but with some notable differences. The screen is no longer AMOLED in favor of an LCD also touch, with a size of 2.6 inches and maintaining the same resolution, 240x400 pixels. Same B&O camera, connectivity and audio technology, but on the Beat Disc the mixing software has been swapped out for more comprehensive and visually striking music playback programs.

Both models have Bluetooth connectivity and a MicroSD card slot, with which you can expand the internal memory up to 16 GB. Price and release date have not yet been officially communicated.
