Sony embraces Android Wear and the Smartwatch 3 watch is its new smartwatch

Sony has given a considerable review and renewal to its range of wearables and has made them much more palatable. With his current Smartband and Smartwatch (version 2 we tested it a year ago already) he had lagged far behind the rivals' pace.

So at IFA it has presented the new Smartwatch 3, which is added to advanced watches with Android Wear.

Sony Smartwatch 3, uniting Android Wear with the Sony ecosystem

After being the first major manufacturer to offer a smartwatch, Sony has finally succumbed to Android Wear and abandoned independent development in this segment. It seems logical and even correct to us.

Your new smartwatch is comprised of a removable core strap, which is interchangeable, and includes a microphone but not a speaker. This way we can give you instructions by voice.

On the screen of the Sony SmartWatch 3 we will always have information about our emails, calendar events, messages, calls or alarms, as well as notifications from different applications.

With GPS, IP68 and internal memory for music, this Sony Smartwatch aims to interesting for sports

The application ecosystem is nourished by Android Wear but with a strong component of its own applications on that Google system, basically for communication and entertainment.

At a technical level, this smartwatch has 4 GB internal memory that will serve in part to carry music and play it locally with the help of headphones. GPS is also included and has an IP68 profile, so its use as a sports watch is going to be one of its strengths, and can even submerge it.

The battery promises two days of autonomy, although it will have to be seen with what use.

The new Sony smartwatch will have an estimated price of about 250 euros and will go on sale in Spain in October.
