A mobile phone for 40 euros for poor countries
With prices above 60 or 100 euros, mobile phones are out of reach for a large part of the inhabitants of this world. There are currently some 1.7 billion mobile phone users, so terminal manufacturers must be made to think about the potential market that they still have to conquer. But to reach the still virgin areas of mobile telephony, affordable prices are necessary, Motorola has presented at the 3GSM World Congress what will be a terminal that will cost about $ 40 and will be destined for developing countries, an initiative promoted from the GSM Association, which brings together 18 global operators.
The goal is to attract around 100 million users in the coming months. What I wonder is if once they have bought the terminal (if they can afford it) they will be able to pay the phone bill (if there is coverage to call).
